My Story
I was born in a small beach town called Manta, on the shores of Ecuador. Growing up, I watched my dad, who came from humble and poor beginnings, overcome numerous struggles with optimism and courage. From him, I learned that as long as your spirit never breaks, everything is possible.
After seeing how cloud computing disrupted nearly every industry, I migrated to the United States to pursue my interest in software development. I earned a B.S. degree in Computer Engineering from the University of South Florida and a M.S. degree in Computer Science from Virginia Tech, supplementing my formal education with internships across data centers, software startups, and global banks.
I began my career as a software engineer working on the Microsoft Edge browser, helping build the foundation for it to become the most secure AI browser on Windows. Early success in software engineering motivated me to understand how to build products people love. This curiosity led me to a brief transition into Product Management, where I helped shape a security product highlighted by Microsoft’s CEO at a major conference.
At Starbucks, I learned that the way software systems communicate mirrors the communication patterns of the engineers who build them, and that great software cannot exist without strong communication and mediation. With that clarity, I returned to my craft as a software engineer, taking on larger challenges such as the rejuvenation of Starbucks’ menu services to better serve our customers.
Today, I build platforms that support the future of human connection at Meta. I bring an end-to-end perspective and help teams make long term decisions at the intersection of engineering and product.
Outside of my profession, I spend time loving my family, pursuing self-development, and volunteering with my local community and the police department. I love to laugh, write, and mentor others by sharing my fire-tested experiences.
